An Ode to Blood Oranges

This past Sunday, I went to Trader Joe's and as usual, I was going to pick up a bag of mandarins but to my utmost surprise, they had BLOOD ORANGES!

Last blood orange season, I ate two everyday and I successfully converted my friends and some coworkers into fellow blood orange fans.

If you're new to this and don't know what a blood orange is, let me fill you in.

Blood Oranges have a distinct taste & color unlike other citrus fruits and it melds beautifully in salads, entrees & desserts alike. If you're anything like me, you're already itching to make something fun with these fruits.
